Estancia first baseman Stephen King drove in two runs and pitcher Chris Watson added a pair of doubles to lead the Eagles to a 5-3 victory over Norwalk in a first-round 3-A Division game at Estancia.
Trailing, 1-0, after one inning, the Eagles (18-7) scored a pair of runs in the second inning. Colby French led off with a single. Watson moved him to third with a double. King then drove in both runners with a bloop single to right field.
Watson, a senior, improved his record to 9-1 with the victory. The Eagles’ ace, who struck out five and allowed only six hits, recovered from a shaky third inning in which the Lancers (14-9-1) scored two runs to regain the lead.

La Quinta 5, Garey 1--Ken Granger and Chad Lewckie each had two hits and an RBI and host La Quinta (21-7) scored single runs in each of the first five innings. Garey committed five errors and three of the runs were unearned.
