Police investigating the disappearance of a 4-year-old girl said Saturday that no evidence of any significance was found during their search of a cabin owned by relatives of the child’s foster parents. Investigators refused to say what they found during the search. “We’re still at a bad point in the investigation,” Sgt. Dan Bloom said. A police task force assigned to investigate the July 28 disappearance of Alicia Armstrong entered the two-story wood-frame cabin in Fawnskin near Big Bear Lake shortly after 4 a.m. Friday, Police Department spokesman Sherrie Guerrero said. Police would not say why they searched the cabin--owned by the parents of Alicia’s foster mother, Tammy, a Loma Linda nurse--but said nothing that appeared significant was uncovered. Alicia vanished while shopping with her foster father at the Inland Center shopping mall. Craig Armstrong told investigators that he turned his back on Alicia to attend to her younger sister and could not find the older girl moments later. Police have placed Armstrong on paid administrative leave. Armstrong, 29, has been a motorcycle officer with the Police Department for six years.
