Subway Fire Traps 2,000 in Trains

LONDON — A fire at an underground railway station Tuesday evening left as many as 2,000 passengers trapped in six trains for two hours. Two minor injuries were reported.
London Underground said the fire started in a storage container on a platform at Bank Station on the Central Line and spread to electric cables, leading to a power shutdown on part of the track about 6 p.m. Firefighters extinguished the blaze.
