Burroughs Names Sullivan as Head of Basketball Program

Burroughs High wasted little time finding a replacement for Ira Sollod, formerly the school’s basketball coach.
Although Sollod is on vacation and has yet to submit a letter of resignation informing the school that he has accepted the basketball job at Royal High, Burroughs has named Art Sullivan as Sollod’s replacement.
Sullivan assisted Sollod with the basketball program at Burroughs and also serves as the school’s golf coach. Sullivan too is on vacation and was unavailable for comment Tuesday.
“He’s the natural person and the timing is perfect for him,” Burroughs Principal Tim Buchanan said of Sullivan. “We’re fortunate to have him. We’re really optimistic.”
Sollod replaces Joe Malkinson, who resigned as Royal’s coach in June to coach at Elk Grove High, near Sacramento.
