Woodland Hills Wins 2 Games in Baseball Open

The Woodland Hills Astros won two games Tuesday in the U.S. Open baseball tournament in Carson City, Nev.. The Astros (3-0) will play the Valley Rangers (3-1) at noon today.
Woodland Hills (30-13-1 overall) opened with an 18-6 drubbing of Chicago. In that game, James Merriweather, Randy Cooper and John Myrow each homered and drove in three runs.
Later in the day, Woodland Hills stopped Victor Valley, 12-2. The Astros hit five home runs, including two by Mike Suarez.
