Radioactive Leak Probed at Chernobyl

MOSCOW — A reactor at the Soviet Chernobyl nuclear power plant, scene of the world’s worst nuclear accident in 1986, suffered a minor leak of radioactive cooling water last week, but spillage was confined to a sealed area, a spokeswoman for the plant said Friday.
She said an investigation is under way. The plant is under repair, and its reactors were not operating at the time, she said.
