Bit More than Beatles
I just wanted to add that there is a bit more than the Beatles going on in Liverpool these days (“Embracing the Beatles in Liverpool,” Aug. 4). One cannot avoid noticing Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral towering over all. Billed as the largest cathedral in Great Britain and the largest Anglican cathedral in the world, it is also home to the annual Liverpool Cathedral Festival, now in its fifth year.
Under the artistic directorship of professor Ian Tracey, organist and choirmaster of the cathedral, the festival this year ran from June 28 to July 13 and included orchestral, choral and organ concerts, opening with Paul McCartney’s “Liverpool Oratorio.”
