Parents Stand Behind Beleaguered Principal

As parents who have had children in attendance for 11 years at Brentwood Science Magnet, we would like to state that Beverly Tietjen has our continued confidence and trust. We know that all funds in her control were used to benefit the school and its children.
It is indeed unfortunate that a few disgruntled parents seem to have motivated such a negative action. (Please don’t think us naive; we know this was a factor in the action taken to date.)
School committees, including the Shared Decision-Making Committee, are supposed to be constructive forces. We never suspected that a destructive few would work so hard to attempt to destroy an honorable woman who is generally recognized as a key force in making Brentwood Magnet one of the most successful schools in the city.
Now is the time to respond to the majority. Give Mrs. Tietjen the time and support to clear up the situation, then return her to her position immediately. This has been an extremely disruptive start to the school year.
