Ten players with Southern California roots were among the 90 invited by the U.S. Baseball Federation to try out for the 1992 Olympic team Nov. 1-10 at Homestead, Fla.
The invitees include: catcher Jason Moler of Cal State Fullerton, infielders Jason Giambi and Chris Gomez (Cal State Long Beach) and Dan Melendez (Pepperdine); outfielder Todd Steverson (Arizona State); and pitchers Willie Adams and Andy Lorraine (Stanford), Mike Collett and Kent Donnelly (USC) and Derek Wallace (Pepperdine).
