Bridgford Foods Posts 10% Net Gain in Third Quarter

Bridgford Foods Corp., the Anaheim producer of convenience food products, posted net income of $1.1 million, or 18 cents per share, for the third quarter of fiscal 1991, 10% higher than the $1 million, or 16 cents per share, recorded for the corresponding period last year. Sales for the quarter ended Aug. 2 increased 8%, to $22.1 million from $20.5 million.
For the first three quarters of the fiscal year, net income totaled $3.2 million, or 50 cents per share, on sales of $68.9 million. Net income for the year-earlier period was $2.8 million, or 44 cents per share, on sales of $61.6 million.
The 1990 per share amounts were adjusted to reflect a 3-for-2 stock split (50% stock dividend) distributed Dec. 28, 1990.
