American Telephone & Telegraph Co.’s $7.4-billion purchase of NCR Corp. was finalized, and the computer maker’s stock traded for the last time on the New York Stock Exchange. . . . Trans World Airlines decided to extend a coast-to-coast fare sale through today. . . . International Lease Finance Corp. of Beverly Hills said it has leased 23 jet aircraft worth $714 million to 13 airlines. . . . Cox Newspapers, a unit of Atlanta-based Cox Enterprises, announced that it has acquired direct-mail giant Val-Pak Direct Marketing Systems Inc. of Largo, Fla., for an undisclosed price. . . . The Investment Co. Institute reported that the assets of the nation’s 559 money market mutual funds decreased by $2.37 billion to $460.85 billion in the week ended Sept. 18.
