Slauson Middle School Teacher Is Honored

Gail Arakelian, a Slauson Middle School language arts teacher who has taught in the Azusa Unified School District since 1972, has been named the district’s 1992 Teacher of the Year.

Arakelian has served on the district’s writing and textbook selection committee, coordinated Slauson’s language arts curriculum and worked with the community on the Slauson School Site Council.

She has a bachelor’s degree from Cal Poly Pomona and a master’s from Pepperdine University.
