Honors From the Top: Gov. and Mrs. Pete Wilson will present the 1991 Governor’s Award for the Arts to nine California artists, arts organizations and patrons Nov. 22, recognizing lifetime achievements and significant contributions to the arts in this state. The recipients will be actor James Stewart, composer John Adams, author Wallace Stegner, artist Wayne Thiebaud, Old Globe founder Craig Noel, actress Carmen Zapata, entrepreneurs Mr. and Mrs. Donald Fisher, the James Irvine Foundation and the J. Paul Getty Trust.
