A Ventura woman suffered a dislocated and fractured arm when she was mugged by another woman on the promenade at the beach.
Lydia Escobar, 49, was walking along the promenade about 8:30 p.m. Thursday when a woman in her mid- to late 20s, dressed like a jogger, hit her twice in the shoulder, knocked her to the ground and took her purse.
The woman, whom Escobar described as either Latino or Asian-American with shoulder-length black hair, also tried to yank Escobar’s tennis bracelet from her wrist, leaving a mark on her skin.
Escobar lost $30 to $40 and all her credit cards. Her assailant dropped Escobar’s purse, with her checkbook inside. Police Friday night could not say if any arrests had been made in the incident.
