FILLMORE : City to Buy Land for Bigger Waste Plant
- Share via
Fillmore City Council took the first step toward upgrading the city’s waste water treatment plant Tuesday, voting to try to acquire 10 acres needed to expand the plant.
The council agreed to pay a Ventura consulting firm up to $4,000 to negotiate with property owners to buy land between C and E streets south of California 126.
Additional plant capacity is required to accommodate projected growth in Fillmore, city officials said. The plant is operating at about 75% capacity, said Community Development Director Mary Ann Krause.
