ROUNDUP : Royal Girls Win Marmonte Volleyball Title

Senior Stacy Kaufman had 26 digs, 13 kills and 20 service points Thursday as visiting Royal High won its first Marmonte League girls’ volleyball title since 1986 with a five-game victory over Agoura.
Jennifer Hamilton added 28 kills for Royal (17-3, 12-2 in league play), which won the two-hour match, 15-5, 14-16, 15-8, 4-15, 15-10. Jenny Pavley, Jenny Tattersall and Tracy Heflin each had 12 kills for Agoura (10-6, 9-5).
In other girls’ volleyball matches:
Newbury Park d. Westlake, 15-12, 9-15, 17-15, 17-15--Jenny Cameron had 23 kills for host Newbury Park (10-6, 10-4) in a Marmonte League match.
Ventura d. Santa Barbara, 15-11, 15-2, 15-7--Danielle Braun and Jessica Lepper each had six kills for Ventura (12-2, 12-2), which handed host Santa Barbara its first Channel League loss in 14 matches.
Notre Dame d. Alemany, 15-9, 15-9, 15-12--Ani Thorpe had 10 kills to lead host Notre Dame (10-6, 8-2), which clinched at least a share of its second consecutive Mission League title.
Hart d. Burroughs, 15-1, 10-15, 15-6, 15-7--Lorile Downen had five kills and Shannon Martin added four kills and seven stuff blocks for Hart (7-7, 5-5) in a Foothill League match at Burroughs.
Canyon d. Saugus, 15-12, 13-15, 15-12, 12-15, 15-9--Julie Moiser had 18 kills and Lisa Bussard added 17 for Canyon (14-0, 10-0) in a Golden League finale.
GIRLS’ TENNIS
Louisville 16, St. Paul 2--The senior doubles team of Jenn Casella and Jill Rosenthal swept three matches to lead Louisville to a Mission League victory at Pierce College.
Notre Dame 12 1/2, Bishop Montgomery 5 1/2--Julia Feldman won her three sets at No. 1 singles to lead host Notre Dame (10-6, 4-4) in a Mission League match.
