BIG WEST ROUNDUP : Dilfer Leads Fresno State to Victory and Raisin Bowl

Freshman quarterback Trent Dilfer threw two touchdown passes and ran for another Saturday night to lead Fresno State to a 31-28 Big West Conference victory over San Jose State.
The victory gave Fresno State (10-1, 6-1 in conference) a tie for the Big West title and a berth in the Dec. 14 California Raisin Bowl.
San Jose State (6-4-1, 6-1) took a 13-10 halftime lead on two touchdown runs by Maceo Barbosa in the first quarter.
Dilfer finished with a career-high 253 yards passing, completing 16 of 27 pass attempts.
Anthony Daigle’s three-yard run on the first play of the fourth quarter increased the lead to 24-13, and four minutes later, Dilfer hit Kelvin Means on a 24-yard touchdown pass.
With the victory, Fresno State extended its home unbeaten streak to 29 games.
