Lauper Ties the Knot: Singer Cyndi Lauper, known for her outrageous costumes and unusual hair colors, kept up her penchant for the offbeat at her wedding Sunday to actor David Thornton. Little Richard performed the ceremony, Patti La Belle sang “A Whiter Shade of Pale” and a grandmother was the maid of honor. The wedding was performed at the 205-year-old Friends Meeting House in Manhattan. Lauper wore a white satin bustier party dress, while the bridegroom opted for a traditional tuxedo. The ceremony was followed by a double-decker bus trip to an Italian restaurant on the Lower East Side of New York.
