Mike Jagd, who has coached the El Toro boys’ and girls’ volleyball teams to a combined 301-82 record, will resign at the end of the girls’ season to pursue a graduate degree at the University of Colorado.
Jagd coached the Charger girls (19-4) to the Southern Section 5-A finals and the Southern California Division I tournament. They play at Arroyo Grande in a second-round match Saturday night.
Jagd has coached the El Toro boys since 1980 and the girls since 1982. Several of his players have earned Division I college scholarships.
“Mike’s ready to move on,” said his wife, Kim, who helps coach the Chargers.
