Jobless Rate Fans Fears About Recovery: A jump in Australia’s jobless rate to a record post-war high last week may bring another cut in interest rates, but it also fans fears about the country’s jerky recovery from the worst recession in 60 years. Economists said the rise in the unemployment rate, to 10.5% in November from 10.1% in October, is also a major blow to the government, which is going through a crisis of confidence.
