PREP POLLS : Mater Dei Starts Season Off Right With Place at Top

Mater Dei, winner of the Coca-Cola Classic and the Tournament of Champions, is the top-ranked team in the first Orange County Sportswriters’ Assn. boys’ prep basketball poll of the season.

Mater Dei defeated second-ranked Capistrano Valley, 69-55, Saturday in the title game of the Tournament of Champions. The poll:
