When It’s Over, It’s Over

In Howard Rosenberg’s column “It’s Time to Erase the Moving Dot” (Dec. 6), he wrote a postulation: “Smith is acquitted and all appeals have been exhausted, leaving the alleged victim with no legal standing.”
If the defendant is acquitted, there are no appeals. It’s the law.
