LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A toll-free telephone number that takes reports of poaching and hunting violations in Arkansas has been expanded to include grave robbers.
A new state law bans pothunting, as it is called, in any unregistered grave, including those of American Indians, Civil War casualties, pioneers and slaves. It also prohibits the purchase and sale of items removed from such graves.
The Arkansas Historic Preservation Program and the state Game and Fish Commission announced the toll-free number this week.
