CALIFORNIA IN BRIEF : TAHOE CITY : Lake Drops to Its Lowest Level Again

Lake Tahoe has dropped to its lowest recorded level again, and undoubtedly will drop farther, but scientists will not know for sure. The gauge used to measure the lake is sitting on dry ground. The U.S. Geological Survey in Tahoe City is making arrangements to modify the gauge so the dropping water level can be monitored, federal Water Master Garry Stone said. He said the gauge hit bottom at 6221.4 feet above sea level.
