On the video rental battleground, in the clash of macho man (Arnold Schwarzenegger in “Terminator 2”) vs. macho women (Susan Sarandon and Geena Davis in “Thelma & Louise”), the women won this week. “T2,” which slipped to No. 2, was ousted by “Thelma & Louise,” which many retailers say has been the hottest rental since it came out a few weeks ago. Spike Lee’s “Jungle Fever,” which grossed a respectable $32 million in theaters, moved up one notch to No. 9. “Whore” debuted at No. 27 on the rental chart. “Dying Young,” the Julia Roberts tear-jerker, hasn’t taken the rental market by storm. It moved up one notch to No. 7.
* “Point Break,” the Patrick Swayze movie about undercover cops trailing outlaw surfers, is big among male teens and women who swoon over Swayze. In its second chart week, this action film jumped from No. 11 to No. 6.
