Scholastic Surfing: Capistrano Valley, Dana Hills, Huntington Beach, Marina, Laguna Beach and San Clemente will be among the teams competing at the California State High School Surf Team Championships this weekend at the Oceanside Pier.
Huntington Beach, the Sunset Surfing League champion, is the favorite to win the 4-A division, and four-time defending champion Capistrano Valley is favored in the 3-A division.
The competition begins at 7 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, with the finals beginning at 9 a.m. Sunday.
