The Winning Team: “The Simpsons” on Fox TV took the gold medal in the national A.C. Nielsen Co. ratings Thursday night, beating an original episode of NBC’s “Cosby” for the first time, and also finishing ahead of CBS’ Winter Olympics coverage. “The Simpsons” went to bat with a baseball-themed episode that included animated appearances (and real voices) by such major leaguers as Steve Sax, Jose Canseco, Darryl Strawberry and Mike Scioscia. The 14.9 rating was the highest for “The Simpsons” in 14 weeks.
