Long Beach Women Defeat UC Irvine

The Cal State Long Beach women’s basketball team breezed to an 81-60 victory over UC Irvine Sunday in a Big West game at Long Beach.
Danielle Scott scored 16 points to lead a balanced scoring attack for the 49ers (16-7, 10-4). LaTisa Rush had 12 points.
Yvonne Catala had 16 to lead the Anteaters (4-20, 0-15).
Long Beach, which led 40-30 at halftime, shot only 39.3% for the game (24 of 61) but made 32 of 42 free throws. Irvine sank 16 of 27 free throws.
