State highway officials have approved a $2-million project to build sound walls to reduce freeway noise in Claremont and Pomona neighborhoods along the San Bernardino Freeway (10).
The two projects, each almost half a mile long, are scheduled to begin in September and will be completed in February, 1993.
In Claremont, the 12- to 14-foot walls will run from just east of Indian Hill Boulevard to the San Bernardino County line. In Pomona, a similar project will run from just east of the Corona Freeway (71) to just west of Ganesha Boulevard.
