Economically, acceptance of emigres from the ex-Soviet Union will be beneficial to the United States. Our country will receive a highly educated and extremely motivated influx of people into the productive sector of the U.S. economy.
Experience over the past years has demonstrated that ex-Soviet emigres create a positive impact on the communities in which they settle. Low crime rates, low unemployment rates, large numbers of newly created jobs and higher levels of education are the trademarks of such communities.
An added benefit is that these people will be an additional channel through which the American businesses will be able to participate in the great renaissance of the vast Russian market.
