John Gotti controls the Gambino crime family even from his prison cell, his ex-confidant, Salvatore Gravano, testified at Gotti’s trial in federal court in Manhattan. Gravano, 46, also charged that Gotti’s men paid off jurors in two mob-related trials that ended with acquittals, bribed a police officer to warn the Gambino family of impending arrests and forced lawyers of arrested mobsters to get permission from Gotti before their clients could plead guilty.
