EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Notre Dame was virtually eliminated from an NCAA tournament berth Monday night when the Irish lost to Evansville, 74-56.
Parrish Casebier scored 31 of his career-high 41 points in the first half to lead regular-season Midwestern Collegiate Conference champion Evansville (22-5), which put itself in strong contention for an NCAA bid.
Evansville’s swarming man-to-man defense kept the Irish (14-14) off-balance the whole game. The Aces led, 45-20, at halftime. In the first half, Casebier was 11 for 15 from the field, including seven for eight from three-point range.
