Three Athletes Nominated for Award

Three Orange County high school athletes have been nominated for Los Angeles area youth athlete of the year by the Los Angeles’ Sports Dream ’92 committee at Childrens Hospital.
San Clemente water polo player Jeremy Laster, Newport Harbor volleyball player Justin McIntee and Western golfer Tiger Woods were selected as the top performers in their respective sports. Public voting will determine the winner among the 10 nominees. The results will be announced May 20.
Local athletes nominated for other awards were swimmer Janet Evans (an El Dorado graduate), long jumper Mike Powell (who attended UC Irvine) and UCLA soccer player Joe-Max Moore (a Mission Viejo graduate).
