Hall of Fame jockey Angel Cordero Jr. has called a news conference for Thursday at which he is expected to announce his retirement from riding. Cordero, 49, was severely injured in a Jan. 12 accident at Aqueduct, which almost resulted in his death after extensive surgery to repair internal injuries.
