Joseph C. Vesce, president of Mervyn’s, has been named its chief executive. Vesce succeeds Walter T. Rossi, chairman and chief executive, who is leaving to pursue other interests, according to Dayton Hudson Corp., the parent company of Mervyn’s. Vesce will continue to hold the title of president and will report to Kenneth A. Macke, chairman and chief executive of the Minneapolis-based Dayton Hudson.
