After the Netherlands advanced to the semifinals of the European soccer championships with a 3-1 victory over Germany, German gangs smashed windows, looted shops and assaulted Dutch fans in 12 hours of violence in Goteborg, Sweden. Police said 23 were arrested and eight injured.
The Netherlands will play defending champion Scotland, which defeated the Commonwealth of Independent States, 3-0.
