Water District Cancels Election: No Challangers

FOOTHILLS — The scheduled November election for three expiring terms on the Foothill Municipal Water District will not be held because there are no challengers.
All three incumbents facing reelection to the five-member board filed nomination papers by last Friday’s deadline.
They are Richard M. Miller in Division 3 and Lee B. Kline in Division 4, both of La Canada Flintridge, and Barnard Morse of Altadena in Division 1.
As is customary for uncontested water district elections, the candidates’ names will not appear on the ballot. Instead, the County Board of Supervisors will be asked to approve the appointment of the incumbents.
The Foothill district oversees importing of water by seven water companies that serve Altadena, La Canada Flintridge and La Crescenta. About 40% of the water comes from local wells and Foothill arranges for the remainder to be supplied by the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California.
