Rep. Anthony C. Beilenson (D-Los Angeles) and his Republican challenger, Assemblyman Tom McClintock (R-Thousand Oaks), have agreed to meet face-to-face in Agoura Hills on Friday in their first joint speaking engagement of the general election campaign.
Beilenson and McClintock are competing for the 24th Congressional District seat that represents most of Thousand Oaks, Malibu and portions of the San Fernando Valley.
The two candidates will join a candidates forum at Temple Beth Haverim scheduled for 8:30 p.m., following the Sabbath service.
Each candidate will speak for 15 minutes, then answer questions from the audience for about an hour.
Candidates are expected to meet informally with those in attendance after the forum.
The synagogue is at 5126 Clareton Drive, Suite 140, in Agoura Hills. Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
