BACK TO THE FUTURE: Just as you’ve finally come to terms with ‘70s nostalgia--platform shoes, disco beats--get ready for an ‘80s revival. As unlikely as it seems, people are already pining for the days of unchecked greed, narcissism and Duran Duran--at least enough so that a club is opening next month in New York specifically to celebrate all things ‘80s.

Called USA, the club is the latest from Peter Gatien, who owns the Limelight nightclubs, a chain of trendy spots in such cities as New York, London and Chicago. The $8-million, 20,000-square-foot boite will be in the site of an old vaudeville theater. Details are sketchy on what USA will actually entail, but Gatien promises a return to old-fashioned appointments, including a lush VIP room (fashioned by tres ‘80s designer Thierry Mugler) and that old favorite, a snootily selective door policy, presumably complete with arrogant, muscle-bound doormen. Get in line now, but only if you’re dressed properly.
