Your article leaves out two important reasons why the word yes is so infrequently uttered by Hollywood executives.

While many have the power to say no, few have the power to say yes and they don’t like to admit it, hence the evasion until they’ve heard from superiors.

Many don’t say yes because they haven’s personally read the material. They eagerly await reports from a reader, an intellectual functionary who’d be as out of place at Le Dome as Ma Kettle at a fashion ramp.
