State Budget Impasse Ends

Gov. Pete Wilson is basking in his “victory” over the state Legislature, having forced the Democrats to surrender to his budget demands.
I hope he enjoys himself while he can. The implication is clear: This is his budget, and if California falls deeper into the abyss (i.e., more citizens than ever living in poverty, young adults unable to get an education), the governor must assume full responsibility for his actions. No longer can he blame the Democrats.
