Faith Baptist 32, South Bay Lutheran 6--Senior tailback James DeCarriere gained 106 yards in 17 carries and scored two touchdowns to lead the Contenders in an Eight-Man (Large) Division game at Faith Baptist.
Sophomore quarterback Judd Granzow, who had 48 yards in eight carries, ran for one touchdown and threw for another--a 14-yard strike to Robby Alirezaei.
Antelope Valley Christian 38, Grace Brethren 28--Darby Smith rushed for 159 yards and three touchdowns to lead the visiting Eagles in an Eight-Man game.
Smith, who had a 70-yard scoring run in the first quarter, scored with four minutes left to seal the win.
GIRLS’ VOLLEYBALL
San Luis Obispo tournament--Agoura won 14 consecutive games to win the championship at San Luis Obispo High.
The Chargers defeated defending state champion Capistrano Valley, 15-10, in the final. Jenny Pavley had eight kills and Alissa Chulack made six blocks in the championship game for the Chargers.
Pavley and teammate Tracy Heflin were named to the all-tournament team.
