A 24-year-old Torrance man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder this weekend after he allegedly tried to shoot three men in the parking lot of a Lake Forest Drive fast-food restaurant, Sheriff’s Department authorities said.
Lt. Dick Olson said Dan Frank Fuller had reportedly been harassing several teen-age girls in the parking lot of the Carl’s Jr. restaurant at Lake Forest and Carlota drives when the three men tried to intervene at 12:23 a.m. Saturday.
At that point, Fuller allegedly pulled a handgun and shot two rounds at the three men as they ran to their vehicle for cover, Olson said. Fuller then allegedly drove off in a 1973 Cadillac but was stopped by Irvine police officers on the San Diego Freeway at Jeffrey Road.
Deputies recovered a .25-caliber handgun from the Cadillac, Olson said. There were no reports of injuries in the incident. The names of the victims and their ages were not released.
