PRO FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : RAIDERS : Fernandez Falls on the Depth Chart
- Share via
Wide receiver Mervyn Fernandez not only lost his starting position to Tim Brown this week, but the six-year NFL veteran also has been replaced by Sam Graddy when the Raiders use a three-wide receiver set.
Fernandez, 32, was in on only three plays in the Raiders’ overtime loss to the Cincinnati Bengals last Sunday.

A loss Sunday against the Cleveland Browns would be the Raiders’ first 0-3 start since 1986. The Raiders won their next four games that season but missed the playoffs by losing their last four to finish with an 8-8 record.
In contrast, over the past two seasons, 10 teams have won their first three games and all 10 made the playoffs.

Sunday’s game will not be televised in the Los Angeles area, under the NFL’s 72-hour blackout rule.
