Fillmore 21, L.A. Baptist 18--Richard Preciado recovered a fumble late in the fourth quarter and returned it 73 yards for a touchdown to help the Flashes (2-2) preserve the victory over visiting L.A. Baptist.
Trailing, 14-12, the Knights (2-2) drove 64 yards to the Fillmore 23-yard line with two minutes remaining.
But an errant lateral by quarterback Zack Hernandez was scooped up by Preciado and he ran down the left sideline for the score.
Fillmore running back Feliz Zuniga rushed for 100 yards in 17 carries and scored a touchdown from one yard in the third quarter. Running mate Isaac Jimenez gained 94 yards in 14 carries and scored on a four-yard run in the first quarter.
Hernandez completed eight of 16 passes for 157 yards. Jim Romero was the leading receiver for L.A. Baptist with six catches for 131 yards. He added an 87-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in the third quarter.
