Quarterback Reggie Davis scored two touchdowns and threw for a third as Brethren Christian defeated Orange Lutheran, 32-7, in an Olympic League football game Saturday at Artesia High.
Davis scored on a five-yard run with 7 minutes 14 seconds left in the first quarter and a one-yard run with 8:09 remaining in the third quarter to give the Warriors a 12-0 lead.
With 4:41 left to play, Davis completed an eight-yard pass to Scott Thomas.
Davis completed six of 10 passes--all to Thomas--for 89 yards. He also carried 14 times for 33 yards.
“The win guarantees us of making the playoffs,” Brethren Christian Coach Mike Roark said. The Warriors (6-2, 3-0 league) are in sole possession of first place in the Olympic League. A victory over Calvary Chapel this week gives the Warriors the league title.
James Harris, gained 126 of the Warriors’ 202 yards rushing in 24 carries, scored on a 48-yard run with 4:06 left. The one-play drive was set up on Andy Brown’s interception of Orange Lutheran quarterback Chris Timothy’s pass.
Orange Lutheran (6-2, 2-1), which missed two field-goal attempts in the second quarter, scored in the final 6:38 of the third quarter on a 16-yard run by Dale Huss.
Timothy completed five of 13 passes for 30 yards and two interceptions.
