New Incorporations Rise in June: Business incorporations increased 12.8% to 58,248 in June, up from 51,654 in June of 1991, according to Dun & Bradstreet Corp. For the first six months of 1992, incorporations rose 6.9% to 344,847, up from 322,570 in the first half of 1991. “The growth of new incorporations . . . points to a resurgence in entrepreneurial activity for the first time in several years,” said Joseph W. Duncan, corporate economist and chief statistician for Dunn & Bradstreet. Duncan noted that incorporations peaked in 1986 at a record 702,736 and posted declines in each of the following five years.
