Bernstein’s article offered a too truthful look at Bush’s score card. He has lacked conviction, spouted rhetoric and performed badly in aiding America’s path. He seems to have known that the damage done by former President Reagan was too great to repair, too hard to address and so resolved instead to lay a time bomb of urgency at the door of the next Democratic presidential term.
