EYE ON ISAAK: A co-starring film role and the recording of a new album have been keeping Chris Isaak busy. Word is the heartbreak-pop crooner’s tentatively titled “San Francisco Days” album is a bit of a departure for the artist, mixing upbeat numbers with his usual dark ballads.
Though recording wrapped in mid-September, the album’s release has been delayed to March to accommodate the singer’s latest celluloid appearance, “Little Buddha,” which is currently shooting in Nepal. In the Bernardo Bertolucci film, Isaak plays the father of a modern-day incarnation of Buddha, born to an unsuspecting American family.
The film should be out in December, 1993, and Isaak has a tour planned for next summer.
