Costa Mesa Lawyer Promoted: The Los Angeles-based law firm Latham & Watkins said it has promoted 15 associate attorneys to partner. One of them, Glenda Sanders, is in the firm’s Costa Mesa office.
Sanders was the co-lead attorney representing Cytocare Inc., an Irvine maker of urological pharmaceutical devices. A federal judge threw out a class-action lawsuit against Cytocare in May, after Sanders’ team persuaded the judge to dismiss the case, which had dragged on for more than two years.
Several hundred shareholders of Cytocare, formerly known as Medstone International Inc., alleged that the company withheld information that caused the company’s stock to plummet in 1989.
Sanders is a new litigation partner in Costa Mesa.
Six of Latham’s new partners are in the Los Angeles office. The others are distributed among the firm’s other offices across the country. The firm employs 600 attorneys.
